Bar

  • Just thought I would post this. Make of it what you will.

I was sat in the front of a beer bar in Chiang Rai the other night having a quiet beer. There was just 3 customers including me and 2 bar girls both of whom knew me. It was quite early, about 7.30pm.

    As I sat there I

  • There are obviously other areas in Chiang Rai that have some good bars, restaurants etc but this map is about Jetyod Road only. It is the only area where there is P4P for available as far as I know but as I have stated elsewhere, P4P is not available in all the bars. So please do not assume it

  • Hitting the beer bars this week? Fed up with hangovers ruining your holiday and fun?  The below may help:

I was looking around the other day and came accross this product that is supposed to relieve, prevent or minimise hangovers and are also used to boost recovery rates after

  • Chiang Rai is nothing like Bangkok and certainly nothing like Pattaya.

In fact when it comes to nightlife you will not find anything similar to Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy. What beer bars you will find are similar to the older bars on Sukhumvit 22 in Bangkok.

  • Recently opened behind the Sky Walk Condo in Phrakanong is W District and W Market. Its a modern version of On Nut Market / Square but everything is more or less at the same prices. I found it by accident, and because of that I want to give it some publicity.

  • I have been in Bangkok many years now and have been a good customer at one particular small bar. I was a good customer but no more.

  • This is getting to be a regular thing for me, and this is the last time I am going to post about it. I am bored I have just heard of yet another Thai bar girl / farang marriage failing in exactly the same way as many have failed in the past.

  • An interesting thing happened the other night. I was waiting in the Electric Pussy Cat bar just off of Sukhumvit Soi 20 for my best mate and his son when it poured down with rain. I was fine as I was inside, but my mate and his son came in a few minutes later absolutely drenched.

  • I had a day to spare coming back from Laos so I stopped off in Udon Thani for a night before flying back to Bangkok. I very quickly realised that the Thai people whom I met and interacted with were very pleasant. They were helpful, cheerful and generally laid back ! It was really nice to escape

  • I really have had enough. Despite receiving advice from me and many ex pats in Bangkok, at least 4 of my friends and aquaintances are emotionally and financially  hammered, and thats just this last two weeks !

  • If you have never been in the infamous Afterskool bar, in Soi Cowboy and were handed this business card by a friend, what would you think about the bar ?

If you were astute you would realise that the cards bland look disguises what the bar is really like :)

  • Whilst wandering around some bars in Bangkok the other day I came across this toilet. The area I was in has never struck me as having a high sanitary ware theft rate, but who am I to know ?

  • My mate mark has come over to Bangkok for a couple of weeks and last night we hit Soi Cowboy, and boy was it quiet. Compared with a year ago the customer numbers were at least 60 per cent lower.

  • I first met Nong ( not her real name ) about 6 years ago in a bar at Whitesands Beach, Koh Chang. She was a run of the mill, newly 'appointed' bar girl, who couldn't speak any English. She worked in one of the small bars down the hill from Paddy Palms and Top Resort.

  • I will call her Nam, but thats not her real name. I have known Nam about four years and she works as a service/waitress girl in Soi Cowboy. She just called me and sounded ecstatic. After calming down, she invited my girlfriend and I to go and eat at The Landmark. She went on to say that she

  • Right, tonight I went out. Not to a farang oriented venue but to a quiet bar in On Nut, Bangkok. About 5km's from where I live. I ended up there because On Nut is the end of the skytrain line (at the moment) and as it was raining where I would normally get off I stayed on the train !

  • Well this takes the biscuit ! I was in Soi Cowboy, Bangkok last night and popped into one of the older 'a go go' bars for a few cheap beers. The particular bar sells bottled beer at 75baht a bottle, and is a great place to start off a night out. Especially for me, as I am a cheap charlie at the

  • Firstly I would like to apologise for the poor pics in this post. My main camera is in the pawn shop !! :) Thats my excuse anyway.

You can find Sukhumvit Soi 7/1 adjacent to Nana BTS ( skytrain ) station in Bangkok, Thailand. When you are in the station, and face towards the On Nut

  • I really have to write about what has happened to me this month. It is a sign of the times in Thailand. Businesses are closing, tourism is way down and jobs are being lost. Many of the local businesses that remain open are losing money.

  • A Traditional Go Go Bar in Bangkok

I still prefer traditional Bangkok Go Go bars over the newer upmarket ones you find elsewhere in town. I have always liked the small, cozy and dark bars that have plenty of girls, reasonable prices and a great atmosphere, but over the last year the
