I think all farang that stay in Thailand experience things Thais do that they cannot understand. Whether it is raising prices when the number of customers coming in bars subsides, or bar girls raising their prices for similar reasons. But there is one thing that truly does amaze me.

Just a reminder to all the ex pats in Thailand who crave after a good book to read that is written in English. Yes, some Thai book shops have a few, but the books they do stock are expensive and a pain in the proverbial to find. It is much easier to use a kindle and download  ebooks from Amazon

They might not deliver an actual kindle to Thailand, but you can download a free app to your mobile, tablet or desktop that acts as a kindle.

I appreciate that laws in Thailand are often ignored or not enforced but I find it hard to see how this one will ever be enforced or followed.

A law will come into effect on 20th August 2019 making it an offence to endanger the health of others living under the same roof with second-hand smoke.

Chiang Rai is to host a Global Running Summit and a half marathon between 4th and 7th July, this year (2019). Put the dates in your diary or Google Calendar.

This is part of a national strategy to use sport as an economic driver for cities and communities.

I was wondering why I was getting stung aroud the ankles whenever I went out barefoot into the garden. I could not see what or who was doing it because it was dark, but every time I went near a certain tree it happened. At one stage the sting / bite site on my foot was so inflamed and itchy I had to get some steroid cream from the local pharmacy. They also advised me to take some antihistamine tablets. Apparently some people can go into anaphylactic shock.
